ONE SECTION OF THIS STRUCTURE EASILY REVEALS ALL FOUR MAJOR COMPONENTS OF THE PROJECT - WATER, VEGETATION, BOOKS, AND PEOPLE. THE MOST COMPLEX DESIGN ELEMENT OF BIO-LIBRARY IS THE CAST CONCRETE ALL-IN-ONE UNIT. THIS UNIT ACTS AS A STRUCTURAL ELEMENT, VEGETATION VESSEL, WATER CATCHMENT / STORAGE VESSEL, AND BOOKCASES. IN THEORY THESE UNITS COULD BE ARRANGED ANY WAY AND AT ANY SCALE ALL DEPENDENT UPON THE SITE. FOR BIO-LIBRARY, THE DESIGN PUSHED TOWARD OSTERITY AND SIMPLICITY. THIS SIMPLICITY IS MEANT TO SHIFT THE USER EXPERIENCE AWAY FROM THE ARCHITECTURE ITSELF AND INTO AND SERENE ENVIRONMENT WHERE ONE CAN FIND TRANQUILITY OR BE INSPIRED BY NATURE - A SUBLIMINAL REMINDER OF WHAT IS AT STAKE IN A WORLD WHERE NATURE IS SLOWLY DISAPPEARING.
